On Sunday, November 2, 2008, Downtown Wheaton will play host to the “World of Montgomery Festival,” an event dedicated to celebrating, exploring and sharing the diverse cultural heritages that play an active role in the lives of Montgomery County residents and communities. This free, outdoor event, will take place one block north of the Wheaton Metro Station from 12:00 noon to 4:00PM.
The cultural activities and entertainment presented at the Festival will be organized around the theme of remembering and celebrating ancestors through music, dance, visual art, and storytelling.
In addition, a variety of food vendors, drawn from the Wheaton area and the wider County, will be present to offer visitors the opportunity to sample a portion of the culinary diversity for which the County is known. Local non-profit organizations and County agencies also will be represented.
