Rescue a Single Life and You Rescue the World Mural, 2008
Location: Banco Agricola Building, Triangle Lane Parking Lot

After a visit to the Wheaton Rescue Squad, student and families from the Evergreen Montesorri School in Wheaton embarked upon creating an exterior mural on the wall of the Banco Agricola Building that faces Lot 13 in the Wheaton Triangle. Titled Rescue a Single Life and You Rescue the World Mural, the mural covers the entire wall of the building and celebrates the contributions of firefighters. It offers a bright spot of color and landmark in the Wheaton Triangle parking lot.

The project was done in coordination with the Wheaton Redevelopment Program, and began with lessons about mural painting and a visit from world-renown DC muralist, Byron Peck. According to the School’s director, students are taught about what it means to be a productive citizen and serving the community, “In this case, our students had an opportunity to beautify a spot in the heart of their community while creating a message worth sharing with the community and the world.”
